Question 4 Ideas
For question 4 the technologies that I'm planning on using is PowToon to talk about how and why i used a particular software to a specific section of planning.
For the planning stage i'm planning on using Prezi to talk about how i used the different media technologies to make it more interactive for the target audience with examples of how I got feedback to the ideas we had.

Audience review
In our pitch we had to talk about who our intended target audience would be for the music video. I done interviews with several people with different styles to see what they would expect to see when I told them what song my group and I was doing. Our teacher Rebecca, showed us a website called YouGov which is a website that gives you a profile of the average person is a fan of an particular artist. We wanted to see if were correct with our intended target audience comparing to the data correlated by YouGov.
From the image above you can see how the average Disclosure fan is
- Female aged 18-24
- Lives in the Midlands
- Real Interest in celebrities
- Tend to shop at: ASOS, Urban Outfitters, Top Shop, River Island
- Strong Interest in other electronic artists
- and reads NME

Research: Revisit of the Audience
A while ago, I did a blog post about our target audience and I made a Facebook profile of someone in our target audience.
Charlotte Smith is:
And it seems like I had most of Charlotte's personal aesthetics correctly. YouGov has a identified a typical Disclosure fan (in a survey of 61) to be:
- a young female (19 years old)
- a 'city-goer' (lives in London)
- a frequent reader of NME magazine and the Metro newspaper
- a sales assistant at Urban Outfitters
- a regular shopper at the Co-Operative

Production of Music Video: Rough notes and ideas for: Evaluation Question 3
For Evaluation Question 3 ('How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?'), I was thinking about using a type of data graph to show HOW much technologies I used that week (Monday - Sunday), or show how much technologies were used in comparison to no technologies.
And to back it up, I will provide screenshots to show what technologies I used and when. Additionally, I might talk about certain blog posts where I could've used a different type of technology to present my work better.

Post Production Inspirations: Week Four
This week, I have turned the attention to one of my favourite band's music video (You Me At Six - Room to Breathe) for PPI. The thing I would love to include in our own video is the video overlay (where a video is shown through another piece of video). It would be a different way to introduce a video rather than using transitions.

Editing: Day 6
Today we started to put the final touches on the footage for the rough cut. We made sure that all the base tracks are in time with the song, finished putting all the argument scenes into the timeline and made sure that the video has a good ending to it. Another thing we did was incorporate a new special effect into the music video which is the kaleidoscope effect to the cutting shapes footage to when the beat drops and 2:56. It gives it an party/ vibrant feel to it, something that really works well with the genre of music.
I feel so far that our music video is coming along nicely, there's a lot of close up and the base tracks of the dancing and the singing really give it a structure.
Filming Day 8
Today we re filmed the arguments scenes at my house.. This is because We asked Rebecca what she felt of the video so far and she said the following things:
- Shots weren't framed properly
- Too dark
- The arguing was too low/not as convincing as it should be.
We took her advice on board and made sure that all the shots we're brighter, louder and made sure that the argument was at the same standard of the performance in the base tracks.

Post Production Inspirations: Week Three
This week (after attending the most amazing concert ever) I decided to have Example - All The Wrong Places as my weekly PPI as he is an electronic artist and it would be very useful to look at the different styles of editing and special effects used.
One thing I really liked was the earthquake type effect (0:24-0:27) which I thought was really cool and made the shot look visually pleasing.

Production of Music Videos: Editing Day 6 & 7
The past two days of editing have gone really well. We have finally included the argument shots filmed on Monday onto the timeline, and have started to have special effects (e.g. black and blue filters to match the lyrics 'you always tint me black and blue').

Post Production Inspirations: Week Two
This week is a bit different in the sense that I want to share it because I think it is an incredible piece of post production, but unfortunately can't use it in our own video because we're too into the editing process to change everything and also it doesn't fit the genre and storyboard.
Arctic Monkeys have been praised for their latest album, AM, because of the music. But I believe the Do I Wanna Know? video deserves a whole other type of praise because not only is it brilliantly done, but it's part of a syngerous campaign, something we learned about a few weeks ago.

Production of Music Video: Editing Day Five!
Yesterday was another successful day of editing! Rebecca gave us some feedback about which of our shots we should use more and less of due to framework issues or shot types. As a result of that, the chorus and the 2nd verse have been cut for the rough cut!

Production of music video: Workshop
Today in the
workshop we compressed the footage so that it wouldn’t take as long to render.
We also carried on trimming footage and adding additional footage to the
timeline. Additionally, a special effect has been added (mirrored effect). Since
we will be filming tomorrow I have written up a script so that the actors know
what they will be saying tomorrow, instead of improvising. Another reason why
we have decided to write a script is because we want to add subtitles and
having a set script will help us when inserting it into our music video.
Script:
Our roughcut is due soon so we have decided that we will be editing everyday next week except for the Thursday because the college isn't open.

Production of music video: Stop Motion Practice
Here is a quick motion practice we're planning on incorporate in our music video at the end of the video.
Production of music video: Ideas during lessons
During lesson I was
influenced by a music video called Quest Luv by a British female Rapper named
Little Simz. From the video I have influenced to have different angles for the
upcoming shots that we will be taking for the argument shots. Secondly I have
been influenced to add the ‘white noise’ both at the start and end of our music
video, the white noise at the end of the video will appear when the actor
(Terrayne) will push away the camera. I have decided to add this shot of
Terrayne pushing away the camera because it’s a good way to get the audience to
feel as if they are involved in the video. The last idea that I have gained
from this video is adding subtitle in some area of the music video where there
is dialogue – however this isn’t a set idea.
Production of Music Video: Editing Day Three!
So today was more about replacing some of the old Barbican shots with the new ones we filmed yesterday, get them into sync and cut them appropriately. After Friday's filming shots, next Wednesday is when we can properly start editing as our rough cut deadline is two weeks away!

Filming: Day 6
As today was our day off we decided to re film some dancing shots and Base tracks so that there's enough close ups.

Editing: Music video influences
As we was editing we watch music videos to get some inspirations for our own one.
Olly Murs- Wrapped Up
This video is a good example of a music video with the mirrored effect. I really liked the way it looks and it's really suits the music video. In the intro I like the how the text was introduced as Olly is on the tredmill going on the screen. This would really look good for our music video at the beginning we could have a shot of her walking across the screen and the text in time with music.
Jay Z & Kanye West- Paris (Explict Content)
From this music video i was influenced by the credits for Jay z and Yeezy (Kanye West) just at the beginning. Throughout the video the mirrored effect is used and then layered with animal animations. Wont do the mirrored effect throughout the whole video but the whole concept from this song will help when we edit our video, especial when the beat drops at (2:55) to give it a really fun and vibrant party atmosphere.
Ideas for evaluation question 1
For question 1 I am planning to use camtasia to analyse the music as it is playing. I think that this process would be much easier to present my thought on how it uses, develops and even challenges the conventions of a real media product. I used a software like Prezi to present this question I feel that it wouldn't be appropriate for this section of the question.
When it comes to the digipak I will use a spider diagram to analyse the product. This would be more suited to this section of the question as it will enable me to have arrows pointing directly to where I want to make an argument about my product comparing to a real one.

Production of music video: Ideas during lesson
During
lesson I asked how I could increase my blogs and Rebecca’s mentioned that we
should be looking at videos during every lesson for more ideas. So my group and
I will ensure that we do this every lesson. For todays lesson I have been
inspired by two music videos, the two music videos are by British artists. The
first is named G Frsh who is a rapper and the other artist is …
G Frsh – right this time
From
watching this video I have been influenced to add a stop motion section in our
video. To do this we would need the performer to do some type of movement,
whistle holding the shutter button.
Esskay – Nebula
From watching this video I have been influenced to add a mirror effect but with the performer duplicated.
0:59 – 1:02

Production of Music Video: Rough notes and ideas for: Evaluation Question 1
I will approach Queston 1 for the Evaluation in the same way that I approach the review of previous students' work and use Camtasia to annotate the music video as it goes along; talking about how it may challenge or conform with forms and conventions of real media products.
To talk about our ancillary products, I will use thinglink to annonate them (pictured), pinpointing particular parts that I can make a comment on - whether they challenge or conform with forms and conventions of real media products and talk about what we did there.

Post production inspirations: Week one
Here's the start of my weekly dosage of 'Post Production Inspirations!'.
To start it off, I've looked at Gwen Stefani's new video for 'Baby Don't Lie'. What I liked about this part of the video is that it replicates one of our own shots (footwork dancing) and because our genre would require lots of special effects like the Gwen Stefani clip, I thought that it would look nice on our own video.
Another inspiration I got was from Rita Ora's summer hit 'I Will Never Let You Down' and what I got from this video is the sudden change in colour saturation that changes on the beat. As our video is upbeat and contain a lot of colour, I thought it would be a good idea to incorporate it.

Production of Music Video: Editing Day Two!
Today, we are continuing our editing process using FCP, however, some of our footage is too dark.
We tried to adjust the brightness and contrast to try and render the images, but it didn't turn out as we expected.

As a result of this, we have scheduled to re-shoot the unsuitable shots back at Kadija's house on Monday using the dedo lights to improve the lighting. To make sure our footage is appropriate, a laptop will be on stand-by so we can look at our shots to see if they are appropriate to use!

We also tried out some of the special effects before we put into the main timeline footage.

Production of Music Video: Day five!
Today, we have filmed our last base track, which was against a white wall in college.
After that, we started our editing process.
