Reflecting: Summer Work

Back in June, after our AS Media exam, we had one or two lessons to get us prepped for our A2 year. There we learned about different types of music videos (e.g. Event music videos such as Lady Gaga (ft. Beyonce) - Telephone and Michael Jackson - Thriller). They both cost the same amount (£500,000+) and have a combined length of 23 minutes. We also found out that the first music video shown on TV was (ironically) Video Killed the Radio Star - The Buggles.

We looked at the conventions of music videos, e.g. camera movement, editing techniques and particular mise-en-scene, and made a prezi presentation on a video that we thought was a 'perfect' music video. I thought Fancy - Iggy Azalea was a perfect music video because the camera moved in time with the song, there was elements of obvious editing and intertextual references.
